I'm new to the world of (open)metadot, and am slightly confused about the status of the project. Am I correct that:
- metadot was once a GPL application developed by a company
- this company has discontinued this development
- this company, which has lost interest, controls this sourceforge page
- therefore, the community planned to fork off 'openmetadot', which would be more active and willing to accept patches
- unfortunately, this hasn't really taken off yet?
Sorry if I'm way off base here ;)
Kind regards,
Arnout

hmm, close enough to being on base, there have been changes to openmetadot from the metadot base, a few bugfixes and one particular new feature, a WYSIWYG editor for editing gizmos. All these changes are in the CVS version of openmetadot available at the openmetadot project page http://sourceforge.net/projects/openmetadot
I have not packaged a complete version of openmetadot 1.0 yet and at this point I'm not sure I will unless someone finally answers my request and joins the project team, no good software application is developed by a single person, it's always a team effort.

hmmmmmm ok :) - Thanks for the quick reply! I'm not really ready to take up responsibility for the project (time *is* an issue ;)), but I'm glad there's at least someone actively involved in it, so if I'd make a patch that'd make sense it wouldn't be lost :)
