I’m using Meshlab to prepare STL files I receive from clients for 3D printing. Many files I get are separate parts with many internal structures and complications. This makes it really difficult for the printing software to recognize where the part ends and whether it should be solid or hollow. I’ve attached an example file. What I’d like to do is create a new mesh that only has the outside surface information and something that would be recognized as a solid object rather than a bunch of separate solids with internal structure. I’ve worked with many of the mesh tools in Meshlab and I can’t seem to figure out how to get this done. Please let me know if you need any more information.
