what is meshlab's definition of a bordering or boundary edge/face (is
there a difference between a 'border' and a 'boundary' - as you used both in
your email)?
How is it calculated (you mention non-manifold faces are considered to be on
the boundary)?
Is there any way to calculate the number of faces in a model that are on the
border, so you can get a sense of how much you can reduce it?
