Start meshlab - go to "Filter" - "Create New Mesh Layer" - "Fractal Terrain" and hit apply.
OK, all i want to do is add an image to that mesh (that conforms to the mesh) and export that as a DAE file.
Ultimately, I wish to do this automatically through server without having the user manually line it up. However, any guidance is appreciated.
For a single image alignment, try first aligning them using mutual information, and then project the raster to the mesh.
