After using Quadratic edge collapse decimation (with texture) to reduce the face count of an object with texture, exporting as a WRL file produces what appears to be a bad file. Bad as in VRML viewers don't show any object after loading the file. Specifically, this applies to Cosmo Player in InternetExplorer 8 under Win XP. The file texturedknot.ply shows this behavior for me. If texturedknot is exported as a WRL file, it will load in Cosmo Player and show texture. If texuredknow is decimated then exported as a WRL file, Cosmo Player will only display a blank view.
