Summary: libGL.la missing

Initial Comment:
Recently compiled Mesa3.5 (both lib and demos), and 
when attempting to build kdebase2.1.1, compile errors 
out because libGL.la is missing.  I've reinstalled 
Mesa, and still no luck.  Any idea how I can get away 
from this problem, short of disabling GL support in 
KDE?
