Do you think that the more 'pure' Linux distro's like Debian would
accept that?  It would be bad if OpenGL applications couldn't rely on
the existance of GLU for simple stuff like gluBuildMipMaps just
because we don't have a perfect tessellator or whatever.

Don't get me wrong though - I'd like to see SGI's SI GLU become
"The One True GLU".
