Could anyone please help me with a problem. I am having compiling MESA 3.4 on my Linux (Mandrake 7.2). All the .c files seem to compile but then I get /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXext error. I guess Xext refers to the libXext X extensions libraries. Why can't it find this library, when it's in its normal place /usr/X11R6/lib : lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Jan 22 23:47 libXext.so -> libXext.so.6.4* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Jan 22 23:47 libXext.so.6 -> libXext.so.6.4* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 60605 Dec 19 15:35 libXext.so.6.4* What I did was I downloaded MesaLib 3.4 & MesaDemos 3.4, untar, then cd into the Mesa-3.4 directory that they create become root then type: ./configure (wait) ...then... make then I get the error: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXext Any ideas?
