Just my two cents- If you're willing to consider a dual-boot set up, I highly recommend it. The lack of windows support is common in physics, and in these cases is usually limited to OSX and linux. Barring that, you might have some success with a virtual machine. Virtualbox is free and quite powerful, and I use it for the reverse- windows stuff that can't be run on linux (using wine). Dual booting is usually easy to setup without disturbing your current OS install, other than shrinking the hard drive space.
