I write to warn you about making C-M diagrams using MESA. Because of the complexities of stellar atmospheres doing so requires careful attention to the emergent spectrum. it is not a black body. Also, given that, calculating magnitudes requires careful specification of the filter set. There are subtle differences among the observatories. MESA is great for Rphotosphere (suitably defined), L and hence Teff. But for magnitudes I use Baraffe et al's (2015) work.
