Hi Alfred,

Perhaps we have a compiler incompatibility?
I've rechecked the atm install on (mac/linux) with (ifort/gfortran) 
and all 4 cases work with the particular compilers I'm using.

on linux I've got gfortran 4.6.0; on mac it is 4.6.1
on linux I've got ifort 12.0.3; on mac it is 12.0.4
