#1 Interbase connection problem on linux

Hi,
I get a "Connection Refused" error when I try to start up your POS. I
know this should be Interbase's problem and not yours, but they've
been useless.
The problem seems to be that I can't get Interserver started AND
listening to the right port. When I start it manually
("/usr/interclient/bin/interserver") it spits out some nonsense, then
shows up in my process list, but I still can't connect. If I just leave it
up to xinetd to start it, then I never see it in my process list.
I'm running Mandrake linux 8.1, Mercator-0.8-2.
