#17 Corrupt uploads or progress bar stalls

Hello,

i am having quite a strange problem with the PHP
version of Mega Upload.

Okay, here goes. The platform is Mandrake linux with
any combination of Apache 1.3.31 and 1.3.33, PHP 4.3.8
and 4.3.11 and perl 5.6.x and 5.8.x. I made no changes
to Mega Upload whatsoever except for the necessary
ones, so the code itself is a verbatim 1.4.5.

Now, what happens is that some uploads simply go wrong.
The first 70-80 kbytes of the _postdata files are all
0's and the rest are a mix of garbage and the actual
file. It happens about one out of ten, i'd say. I could
not with certainty recreate the problem, so for a while
i was stuck.

Then i removed the sleep(1) in upload.cgi and the
problem just vanished, however, replacing it with
another problem, and that is that the upload simply
never begins. The progress bar stays at 0 bytes and the
_postdata file also stays at 0 bytes.

It has been tested with IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari and
a few other browsers, and strangely enough, neither
problem has ever occurred with Opera, but all other
browsers trigger both errors, and as said, i cannot
recreate any of them just like that, so i'm kinda lost.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!
