Personally, I have been building this on a debian system, using the latest .deb package for the tools. I know it works using the same toolchain provided for cygwin, since I have tested that as well.

Yes. In reviewing the GPL, it looks like I need to provide direct download for it.
The compiler is the gnu m6811 compiler, available at http://www.gnu-m68hc11.org/
