there should be an in-game-switch for No2DMouseRendering=true as it took me quite some time to find that one on some webpage. without it the games was unplayable to me and might scare away new users which don't find the tip on the web.
a hotkey is nothing a newbie will find. if he starts the game for the first time and the mouse is sluggish, he'll look in the options-menu. after that some will google, some will dump the game.
