Mega Switcher, interface Equalizer APO / News: Recent posts

Version 1.3 is out since 05/04/2022, but I forgot to make a proper post here when I rolled it out. Here goes the changelog:

1.3 version :
- [1-user only] Now we can define a default device and a default mode, to be selected on startup
=> This is defined via the new DefaultDevNum and DefaultModeNum variables in Settings.ini
- Fixed a bug with the "About Mega Switcher" tray menu option
- Fixed a bug when setting UseSliderEQ to 0
- Changed #MaxThreadsPerHotkey to 6 instead of 3... read more

Fixed a couple of glitches, so now :
- Users who don't want to use HeSuVi despite recommendations will still be able to enjoy Mega Switcher
- Users with older 32-bit operating systems will now be able to use it also

1.23 version :
- Fixed a glitch in CheckErrors() occurring only when UseHeSuVi = 0 and Users = 1
- Updated the three hotkeys .ini files (some shortcuts may have changed)
- First 32 & 64-bit compatible version

Currently, Mega Switcher.exe is compiled in 64-bit, so 32-bit systems can't run it.
Some users still have older 32-bit systems that perform great for audio purposes.
Following their requests, from the next version on (1.23 presumably), Mega Switcher will be compiled in 32-bit, so both 32 and 64-bit systems will be able to run it.
(reminder : a 64-bit system can run both 32 and 64-bit applications, but a 32-bit system can only run 32-bit applications).... read more

Version 1.2 (edit : 1.22, small fixes) is out ! Here's an excerpt from the Changelog :

1.22 version
- Deleted a remaining message box in 2-user mode that was there for debugging purposes

1.21 version
- Fixed a small bug within the Tray Menu, when clicking alternatively with left and right buttons

1.2 version
- Major EQ Database update with all 600+ original Oratory1990 presets
=> Such presets replace all corresponding AutoEQ "Oratory" presets (named "Harman 1.txt")
=> This update also includes 3 new target curves for some headphones : Oratory, Diffuse Field, Crinacle
- Number of Sound Modes (targes curves) has been increased from 6 to 10
- Full "Devices" images folder isn't included anymore, to greatly save on download size
=> Only relevant device image files are automatically downloaded on startup (only if missing)
=> This behaviour can be disabled via the new CheckPngFiles variable in Settings.ini
- Fixed a bug where hotkeys for User 2 were enabled even if Users = 1
- Better handling of very long device names (> 40 characters excl. brackets)
- Replaced "Sound" by "Target" in modes 2 and up (e.g. "Harman Target" instead of "Harman Sound")
=> Mode 1 remains "Original Sound"
- Added a link to the ChangeLog when there's a new update available
- Added some device pictures to the online database (e.g. Apple AirPods Max)

- New "Check for Updates" feature on startup (can be disabled)
- New "MSWDevice" setting to enable Mega Switcher for either all devices in config.txt or only one of them
- Added two new EQ bands : "Punch" and "Hiss". "Air" has been renamed as "Airiness".
- If there's only one declared device in Devices.ini, it will be automatically activated on startup
- Corrected a bug related to text color in message GUIs

Renamed main downloadable archive to a generic "Mega_Switcher.zip" that's no more version-related.
Also, version 1.1 is in the works now. It will include among other things a new update mechanism.

I've reuploaded everything, merely to update two minor files :
- Settings.ini : the default keyboard was "AZERTY" when it should be "QWERTY". It's fixed now.
- Installation.pdf : A line of text wasn't appearing clearly. Fixed too.
The other files are unchanged, so the version hasn't changed.

Hi everybody. Today, Mega Switcher 1.0 is finally out. I am both happy and relieved.

This project has been a labour of love, by only one person, for the love of music. The idea came to me about 6 months ago. At first it was only a small AHK script for my own personal use. It was very basic but it worked. Maybe I should have stopped there, but... it got out of control, lol. It quickly grew, to its current 2.500 lines of code (which you can check in the "Files" section - good luck !), and it became a complete app with many more functions, which hopefully will be able to meet the needs of many more people.... read more
