Installing MediaXW causes playback of some MP3s to break for me. On attempting to play with mplayer2, the process hangs and must be forcibly killed. On de-installing the free codecs the files immediately play OK again.
It only happens with *some* files, and I can't immediately see any pattern to it. The ones I have that don't play all have ID3 tags, but then some other MP3s I have with ID3 tags are fine; since I don't have a large amount of MP3 I can't say for sure whether that's related.
This has happened reliably on four Windows 2000 boxes; typically the only component installed is the OGG codec. Is it a known problem? Should I send an example troublesome-MP3?
cheers,

Okay, I spoke too soon. :-) Looks like I was using Codecs-0.0.5.
Having downloaded and installed 0.0.6, the problem has ceased. So whatever it was, you fixed it after 0.0.5.
Thanks!
