    As my upnp client doesn't support ogg streaming, i try to transcode ogg to mp3.

    My tests work with vlc in native and with a fifo file, but the transcoding doesn't work. Somebody could help me ?

    Here is what works :
    vlc -I dummy /tmp/any_ogg.ogg  -sout "#transcode{aenc=ffmpeg,acodec=mp3,ab=128,samplerate=44100}:standard{access=file,mux=ps,dst=/tmp/another_mp3_file.mp3}"

    file another_mp3_file.mp3
    another_mp3_file.mp3: MPEG sequence, v2, program multiplex

    playing with mplayer :

    Opening audio decoder:  MPEG layer-2, layer-3
    AUDIO: 44100 Hz, 2 ch, s16le, 128.0 kbit/9.07% (ratio: 16000->176400)
    Selected audio codec:  afm: mp3lib (mp3lib MPEG layer-2, layer-3)
    ==========================================================================

    But, with this config file :
            <treat mimetype="audio/mpeg" as="mp3"/>

         <transcode mimetype="application/ogg" using="ffmpegoggtomp3"/>
         <transcode mimetype="audio/ogg" using="ffmpegoggtomp3"/>

         <profile name="ffmpegoggtomp3" enabled="yes" type="external">
           <mimetype>audio/mpeg</mimetype>
           <accept-url>no</accept-url>
           <first-resource>yes</first-resource>
           <hide-original-resource>yes</hide-original-resource>
           <accept-ogg-theora>no</accept-ogg-theora>
           <agent command="vlc" arguments="-I dummy %in -sout
    #transcode{aenc=ffmpeg,acodec=mp3,ab=128,samplerate=44100}:standard{access=file,mux=ps,dst=%out}
    vlc:quit"/>
           <buffer size="14400000" chunk-size="512000" fill-size="120000"/>
         </profile>

    The converter is used but it doesn't work, either with Android Upnp client or with Rhythmbox as upnp client :
    Android :
    Selecting my ogg file : Unsupported format(s) : audio/mpeg;rate=44100;channels=2

    With rhythmbox, i see in the logs that it goes through transcoding (ffmpegoggtomp3) but it doesn't play anything…

    Somebody could help me ?

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi everybody,
    (UP !)

    I would like to succeed to make mediatomb working… I tryed to detail as much as possible my problem…
    … Would be pleased to get some help.

    As streams, videos and audios formats are quite tough for me, and maybe a lot others, i would suggest to complete your documentation (very detailed) or FAQ with many examples so that we could easyly pick up some similar configurations…

    Anyway, i would like to understand why my transcoder doesn't work… It's seems to be a quite common transcoder…

    Thank you.

    Pierre
