SO I have installed media tomb on a linux sat top-box. install works and I can access files and the web interface. the version of MT installed is that which comes with the BlackHole mipsel image 2.0.9 from linuxsatsupport
I've read the docs at mediatomb.cc but not being a techie, find it hard going. I've managed to get where I am through using forums for specific help.
My STB can stream channels using a url link such as 1:09:201:200... and so on.
How do I create a file/object in Media Tomb that is offered up to a client and provides a UPnP stream for the TV. When I connect to the webinterface of the STB via HTTP I am able to select channels and the STB provides a ".m3u" which is downloaded by the browser then opened by WMP and volia' .. TV. But I cannot get this to work via DLNA.
Now I have tried, and thus far managed to create a ".m3u" file in the server filesystem, this shows up in the media tomb web interface under "filesystem"; but share this - it doesnt show up in WMP. When I click on the file in media tomb web interface on my linux box, the M3U file is downloaded and VLC (installed on the linux box) opens and plays the TV ! live. Great!! Also, on the windows box, if I connect to media tomb web interface and click on the .m3u file in Filesystem view, then again the TV channel is played via WMP.
But none of this is working via DLNA - something isnt right.
