    MediaTomb works great on my PS3. The problem is when I start my PS3 MediaTomb doesn't show up right away. Sometimes if I wait 10 minutes or so it'll appear. I've found that restarting the service on my Ubuntu host makes the PS3 detect it immediately.

    Any idea what I can do to make the PS3 detect MediaTomb along with my other DLNA servers when it starts up?

    Well, i have a little retarded way of doing it. made a php script that restarts the server. (restarting the server makes it appear)

    <?php
    system('sudo medrst');
    print "OK<br />".time();
    ?>

    Then put it to your ww directory, made a filename secret. So, now I  have a link that makes the mt server appear on ps3. On phone like iPhone you can have your bookmarked pages between apps. So, whenever i need the server, i take my iPhone and click on the icon ;) So many people are impressed how i turn something on my ps3 with an iPhone.

    this is my 2 cents
