    Hi, I recently installed mediatomb on my ubuntu pc and all was working good until I tryed to play an avi(dvix) file.
    When the file play, the video is really chunky and the sound laggy. After that, I readed on the mediatomb website that I had to add:
    <custom-http-headers>
        <add header="X-User-Agent: redsonic"/>
    </custom-http-headers>
    to the config file in the <server> </server>, I did but it is still really jerky.
    Does any of you would have idea on how I could solve this?

      Hi,

      usually the redsonic header solves the DSM 320 avi problem, you could try specifying more settings (check the post about DSM and subtitles) and see if it helps.

      Kind regards,
      Jin

      I added those settings I found:
      <manufacturer>D-Link Systems Inc.</manufacturer>
      <manufacturerURL>http://www.redsonic.com</manufacturerURL>
      <modelDescription>UPnP/AV 1.0 Compliant Media Server</modelDescription>
      <modelName>PC-MediaServer-DSM</modelName>
      <modelNumber>105</modelNumber>
      but I did not worked more. I tought, maybe its my router( because the video start to play, I see one image then stop for some sec and I get another Image with the sound being chunky). My two computer at the basement are linked to my router by passing in a switch witch is old so I tough maybe its a 10mbps. I then connected my linux computer with mediatomb directly to my router (D-link DIR-655,Xtreme N Gigabit) but it did not worked.
      I'm always open to suggestion :D
