When I was creating a startup script for mediatomb on my Debian system, I wondered why the command line option to create a PID file (described in the documentation as "--pidfile or -P" wouldn't work when I used "--pidfile". It worked fine when I used "-P", so that's what it got.
Still curious, I just looked at the code to see what it should be, and discovered that the struct option in main.cc requires "--pid", not "--pidfile". Might be a good idea to fix the documentation so that they correspond with one another.
thanks for pointing this out! It was actually a bug in the code, it's supposed to be --pidfile :)
