    hi all,

i have mediatomb up and running, and i have ziova clearstream clients.

i'd like to put a menu item under "video" to play an rtsp stream. for the moment, i have

    Title: test
    URL: rtsp://
    Protocol: http-get
    Class:     object.item.videoitem
    Description: test
    Mimetype: application/sdp

sadly, this doesn't even show up for my upnp client. any sugesstions on what to put into the fields?

I have no information on the ziova clearstream clients, so it is always good to examine the upnp server that is provided along with this renderer.

Based on my experience with other renderers:
in order for the item to show up as a playable item in the list, a correct mimetype has to be supplied. So that's the first stating point. Besides - you specified a wrong protocol: http-get, however, you are using rtsp. Try setting the protocol to "rtsp-rtp-udp" and see if it helps. I do not know if there are more variations for this, the best thing to do is to compare with the server that is shipped with your clearstream client.

Please let me know if the above settings helped.

      hi jin,

sorry for the deal -- been batteling with my upnp client ...

mediatomb is correctly forming upnp menu items. i'll put up an example in case people are lookup

      type: external link

      Title: test
      URL: rtsp://
      Protocol: rtsp-rtp-udp
      Class: object.item.videoItem
      Description: test
      MimeType: video/mp2pt

this work correctly with vlc client -- just goto to playlists and manage the discovery services (upnp) and it works great.

      thanks :-)
