#252 exif tags integration for images

No

For instance a jpeg is recognized, but the exif tags are not read. (Exif : Exchangeable Image File)
In these tags camera properties are typically stored like image orientation, creation time, exposure time, F-number, ISO speed, etc. etc.
Adding this would be a great new feature for mediainfo.

    Accepted.

Warning: non-paid feature request are set to low priority, I don't know when I have time to handle it.

This feature request has been around for a long time. Any particular reason why this never happened?

What would be your quotation for implementing EXIF support in MediaInfo?

      The message above ;-).

What would be your quotation for implementing EXIF support in MediaInfo?

Please contact info@mediaarea.net for discussion about balance between cost and feature you want (e.g. supporting natively all EXIF tags of all cameras is huge, having an interface to exiftool you installed yourself in low).

In Windows Explorer there are about 50 items in Properties > Details for jpeg files that aren't supported by Mediainfo. I'm not sure whether that's considered "huge" but I'd like to see them all supported. At the very least, I'd like Comments supported.

Bump. Not sure how a photo, that is a form of media, can be such low priority. Still, it is free and I do appreciate the work done so far. Keep it up

Not sure how a photo, that is a form of media, can be such low priority.

Our current enterprise sponsors are from the A/V world (archives, producers, broadcasters, ...), none of them have business in photos. And in practice when some of them have photos, they use Exiftools which does a very good job so they don't feel the need to improve MediaInfo with that.
Private users could vote for prioritizing EXIF support based on the donations they have made but it seems that this is also not their priority.

We would be more than happy if we could go in the photo world, just that it is currently not sustainable for us.

Still, it is free and I do appreciate the work done so far.

      thanks :).

Fair comments. I'd forgotten about exiftools, and whilst powerful, even with the accompanying GUI it's not as useable as MediaInfo. Thanks for the super speedy reply!
