I have installed Mediainfo and the GUI on a Debian virtual machine by sudo apt update && sudo apt install mediainfo mediainfo-gui using the debian package managers. The GUI app works fine, but sheet view and tree view are greyed out (see attachment). I have also tried on a Ubuntu virtual machine following the same installation steps, the result was the same and I could not use tree or sheet view. However, on my Windows machine, installing mediainfo, I have access to the sheet and tree view.

I also ran mediainfo on Docker by using this repo. After reading the Dockerfile and their setup script, it appears they have built it from source for alpine Linux. The docker container do not have the greyed out problem.

Is there a dependency I did not install that resulted in this or it's the way mediainfo it's build on Linux? How would I fix this problem.

The Linux (actually WxWidgets) UI is definitely not well maintained, actually the sheet view was never implemented in it (it is on Windows and macOS) and the tree view is implemented only when "Details" (option menu) is checked because it was also never implemented for the classic reporting.

so it is a "work in progress" with no ETA (could be years) due to lack of interest from our sponsors.

I am also seeing this behavior. Strange that it works properly in the Docker version. The tree view is very helpful.
