Okay, I'm doing the TV show Bluey. I've just added episode S01E16 - Yoga Ball. I used tmdb for both TV shows and actors, and tvdb is the primary scraper for everything else. All the actors carried over for the season and the episode. But the tmdb website lists two season actors. So, except for the two season actors, all of the roles should be marked as unavailable for the episode. But it shows every actor.

I think you might be using the same credit API for all three: the television show, season, and episodes. But I am not sure.

Ignore season, we don't scrape season actors, should only be Series regulars, and episodes.

And, unselect the TV Preference Enable TV Show Actor Thumbs to be copied for Episode Actor Thumbs
This is where your getting series actors copied over to episodes.

I did what you said to do but now its not showing the two season actors that appear in that episode it removed every actor. The same thing happens if you click Don't dupicate series actors into epiosdes.

Since for tmdb for tv series it scrapes every actor for that series and puts into into the .actor folder and it list every actor for the tv series when you click on a tv show it shows every actor in the series so when you click Enable TV Show Actor Thumbs to be copied for Episode Actor and you disable it it doesnt show any actor same with Don't dupicate series actors into epiosdes it does the same thing as if you uncheck Enable TV Show Actor Thumbs to be copied for Episode Actor .

So i think somehow those two might be linked together that's causing the problem.

There should be at least 2 actors for that episode the season regular actors since that is what is shows for that episode for full cast list for that episode.

I believe the option I mentioned Enable TV Show Actor Thumbs to be copied for Episode Actor Thumbs may be duplicated.

But you are right, Episodes should only have episode actors, guest actors.
As MC doesn't scrape season actors, these will never be added against episodes in a season.
So, MC is working correctly except for the duplicate option as I mentioned.

I will try one more time with a difernt episode and see if its reproduced one with a guest actor.

I TRIED it with the beach and it scraped the guest star but it should show the season regular actors for the episode and not just the guest stars since that is what kodi shows if you scrape it normally it shows the season regulars and guest stars for an episode. I think you need to add this https://api.themoviedb.org/3/tv/{series_id}/season/{season_number}/credits to episodes for tmdb so it correclty shows guest stars and season regulars for an episode. Sorry am not a programmer but it is just suggeston might help to show season regulars for the episode as well for tmdb?

Bluey S01E17 has two guest actors listed on TMDB, and they scrape and are added to the episode nfo.

I have disabled the option Enable TV Show Actor Thumbs to be copied for Episode Actor
and its routine, as the other option works better.

Maybe use both episode credits and tv season credits for episodes so it shows all the correct actors for an episode it shows when you click the full cast list for an episode on tmdb?

    show the season regular actors

MC doesn't get season regulars, these should be listed as Series casts.

I'll look into that as an option....but I am glad we are now on the same page of functionality.

Shouldnt you remove that option instead of just simply disabling it?

  • kolby

Reason i sugested season actors as well is becasue that is what kodi shows when you right and show informtion for episode if dont use an nfo it shows the season regulars and the guest stars for an episode.

Disabled for testing, I need to double check as to why it was introduced in the first place. I feel someone requested it, many aeons ago.

All good. Leave this with me, as there is no routine in place for Season credits, I need to code this in.

Sorry just trying to figure out a way it follows the full epiosde cast list on thetmdb since it shows both season regulars and guest stars for episodes.

What shows season regulars and guest start? Season Credits?

  • kolby

    kolby - 2024-07-18

Correct. I think season credits are supposed to be with episode credits for episodes i think that will show you the full actor and role list from the tmdb website for an episode. But not 100% sure.

    kolby - 2024-07-18

I meant give not show sorry. But in it will show you the full episode cast list for an episode when click an episode but it will give you both season and guest stars when scraping an episode. I think.

I downloaded it. And now its correclty added the season actors so the episode list isnt blank now. and now its showing the full cast list jsut like tmdb.

I do have one more issue but i will add a new ticket for this its not related to tmdb its related to rescaping a show .
