Dear Alistair, I am an offshore paramedic and using Meddix as a tool for the clinic (version 1,2,0), I have been using it for over a year now. However, I am experiencing many problems I wonder if you could assist or point me in the right direction? 1. Once you have opened meddix and want to dispense, you can only dispense one item then the scroll down feature doesn't seem to work. I have to shut down meddix and go back in to dispense further this has to be repeated. 2. The reporting feature when wanting to print, or send reports only prints the first three letters of the drug which makes it imposable to work with, this in turn forces us to do a double job in that we still have to use spread sheets to do stock checks and keep track of everything. 3. Morbidity report the borders of the document cover the writing and numbers 4. You cannot add pictures into the examination section, picture speaks a thousand words. Look forward to your reply Regards Paul Swinton Remote Site Medic ( NDip: EMC, AMR, FMA) "American Explorer" ______________________________________________________ E-Mail: ame...@pg... Hi, The meddix program tracks how much of each batch should theoretically be left, and shows them in the drop list for as long as there is more than none. So in order to make the stock disappear from the list when dispensing, you need to make sure that in the 'Stock In' tab against the product, it has 'current qty' = 0 This is the purpose of the 'Expire stock' button on the 'Stock out' tab - it is to record things you have thrown away. Just add an expiry for the quantity left in the batch. For the scrolling - yes, that's a nuisance, isn't it? I will make a note and change it so that it displays the tree collapsed by default - I think that would be better. Watch this space for releasees... Ta, Alistair -----Original Message----- From: med...@li... [mailto:med...@li...]On Behalf Of Sh...@eh... Sent: 07 August 2004 03:20 To: med...@li... Subject: [meddix-users] OOD Batch I am wondering how to get rid of the expirey batch once the month has ended. At the moment it lists all items including the batch numbers which are good. So that once you have deleted the OOD items, it still shows that there are items OOD but will show the number of items on the shelf, even if they are under another batch number. Any ideas on how this can be stopped ? Also when you are dispensing items the mouse scroll only works on the first dispensation and after that you have to close each section. If the item you require is at the bottom of the list, you need o go into inventory and move it upto the top so that you can dispense this item, any fix ? Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

For reference, it helps me a lot to know what the version of meddix you're using is. Find it by doing Help > About in the emnu, and going to the Environment tab. Please see inserted comments below: Dear Alistair, I am an offshore paramedic and using Meddix as a tool for the clinic. However, I am experiencing many problems in trying to do so. I wonder if you could assist or point me in the right direction? 1. I am unable to use the "dispensation drop down" facility. It will not select any consumables. --The thing shown is actually a tree view, as in Windows File Explorer. Double click on a Consumable category and it should open to reveal a list of the products in the category - you should be able to select one of these. Only products in black can actually be selected - blue is categories. 2. In the help index there is a "getting started" link, but when opened, there is no information there. --Ah, yes. You don't fancy contributing one :-) ? I'm afraid it's just not been written. 3. The Meddix link takes ages to open. --This is a consequence of using java, and perhaps your PC is not very fast. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about this. 4. There is no choice for "Malaria Prophylaxis" which is used regularly out here. --You can add or remove or edit categories as you wish. Do Tools > Edit Categories in the menu, and go to the last row and type the new category name. 5. Also there is no "save" facility after entering new data, so it sometimes is lost and has to be redone. --Data should only be lost if you don't enter all the mandatory fields - it actually saves as soon as it can. For example, if you add a patient but don't set the department, then try to go to a different patient, it will ask if you want to return to the patient. If you say NO, it will lose the data. I will change the wording soon to make this clearer. I would really like to take advantage of this programme, but it is extremely difficult to do so and not user friendly. I have also tried to download the upgrades, but that does not seem to have made any difference in the performance of the programme. Please could you point me in the right direction? --let us know how you get on...
