About medaid

This is simply a nice looking (in my opinion) Gnome 3 desktop running Ubuntu 16.04 with a few prepackaged pieces of scientific software (geared towards biology). I haven't created any software, but I think that this would be a nice, hassle-free OS for science students and researchers to use.

Now, medaid will not really need any maintenance on my part. All the packages will update along with the rest of the system, and don't require any interaction from me. I will keep version 1.0 until another Long Term Support release of Ubuntu comes out. I'm not quite sure how I will go about updating 1.0 to 2.0 yet, but stay tuned for that :)

Anyway, I hope you like the project. In fact, you don't really need to worry about updates too much, as you can simply use this as any other normal Ubuntu system. You could even forget about all the scientific software if you're not into that, and you are left with a minimalist Gnome 3 system.
