If you haven't taken a look at the state of things lately, you might want to check it out now. I fixed the tree problem, and it works beautifully. I tested it on one of the nice machines in ECCR 143, and it simply smoked. It felt just like a normal windows program. The URL that you may want to look at is: http://mds.colorado.edu/x305.html By the way, colin, (if you're still reading this!) the problem with the tree was that the panel we were putting the JTree into has a default layout manager of FlowLayout, which doesn't let things grow. The only thing that was needed to get it to work was setting the layout to BorderLayout (which will let the center component grow to its hearts content) and then adding it to the center.
