I was able to create a text file from my table inside
a ms-access97 database. Now I have access 2000 and I
am exporting the same table, but the data contains bad
characters and some of the columns are empty.
I am using Jet4 on Linux box.
This is a sample of bad data:

at the end of running my export, command line shows up
and it fills with

Can any one help with this?

    I run this command:
    mdb-export AA.mdb aa_Table
    or
    mdb-export AA.mdb aa_Table > testtable.txt

    and another sample data is:

doesn't show any data when i convert table data to text

May be you will need add support UTF-8 to code of mdbtools - get the patch from tracker, copy to folder of CVS mdbtools, patch -p0 <utf8.patch
