[mdb-dev] Problem connecting to cvs server

I can't seem to connect to the CVS server for the latest updates.
Here is a copy of the output:

cvs [login aborted]: unrecognized auth response from cvs.sourceforge.net: M
PserverBackend::PserverBackend() Connect (Connection refused)

I have tried several passwords, including leaving the field blank
altogether, each time I get the same error message returned.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
