Hi all,

A while back I had media portal 1 working perfectly with MDapi but with mediaportal 2 it doesn't seem to work can anyone let me know if this is MP2 that can't deal with it or if anyone has a step by step way of making it work with mp2 Id be very grateful thanks!

Hi, MP2 has different folders structure and as far as I know it is not standardized yet. So, I haven't added support of MP2 in my project. However it is not so important, MDAPI+ has abilities to load plugins in other way. Could you please describe your installation (number and kind of cards, which plugins are used, etc) and may be I offer you a solution.

My system has the aforemetioned DVB-S2 card and one DVB-T card. I want to use vPlug with the DVB-S2 card, so thats the only plugin i guess.
I hope that's the info you need, otherwise I'm afraid I need more detailed instructions ;)

It would be great if you could add support for MP2 with the old TVE3 engine.

The structure is like this:
Path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Plugins\SlimTv.Service3
There is the tvservice.exe - but that one is not run directly. Instead the MP2 Server Service is running and somewhat including / running indirectly the old service - no idea how it works exactly.

THe running service is named MP-2-Server service and it is somewhat not visible in the normal process list. Path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\MP2-Server.exe"

Hi, I'll prepare new build tomorrow and describe how it is possible to setup plugins whatever the application which is used.

Steps to setup plugins for any application.

Download and install MDAPI_Plus build 1620.

Prepare the plugins. Every plugin must be placed in a separate folder. Names and place of folders are not important.

Start application which uses MDAPI and try to tune any channel. After this step in MDAPI_Plus settings should appear all installed TV cards.

Open properties of every TV card and set there “Name of the plugins pool” value. You can choose any string.

Open “Plugins” page in settings and add plugins prepared on the step 1 with “Add plugin...” button. For added plugins set for “Name of the plugins pool” same value as you have set for TV card on the step 4.

MDAPI_Plus uses plugins from such pool on demand. I one scrambled channel is tuned, only one plugin is used and loaded. It is possible to merge few TV cards in one pool if it uses same plugins.

Hi I have Genpix card set up on win10 and MP2 also installed MDAPI_Plus 1626 but MDAPI dont showing my card in applications page I put MP2-Client.exe or MP2-Server.exe no luck it is diferent then MP1 (all works good in MP1 setup)
Please tell me what Im doing wrong?

I don't know what happen to my post above ?
I change path to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Plugins\SlimTv.Service3 and now I can see my tuner card in MDAPI settings evertihng looks exactly like in MP1 but have no channels
Please help!

Hello, MP2 TV server is not yet supported. The structurr of folders related to TV server in MP2 wil be changed. Hovewer you may use MDAPI_Plus with any application as it described in my post from 2015-12-22.

Thank you! Yes I try the way from post 2015-12-22 but is not working for me or I do not understood instruction:

No, any string which you like, "plugin0" or "DVB" or anything else. These strings must be identical for plugin and TV card

Yes now I got it same string for pool in plugins page and same in cards page I did that
Now about applications page which .exe program I have to use ?
This one "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Plugins\SlimTv.Service3"
or that one "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server"
both .exe showing my card but I do not have channels on any of them?

I've forgot one imprtant thing for MP2. You have to create a folder

C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\MDPLUGINS

Valid EXE is

C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Plugins\SlimTv.Service3\TvService.exe

Please note that I provide paths for 32bit OS, for 64bit you have to use C:\Program Files (x86)

MP TV Server should create in MDPLUGINS folder MDAPICards.xml file and subfolders for every TVCard.

If you will have no channels after that, please post here logs of MP and MDAPI_Plus

According to the logs MP calls MDAPI_PLus in a proper way and plugins are loaded correct. You have to check your plugins settings

I’m using exactly the same settings like for MP1 and they are working ok 
I will try install everything again and see if is working if not will wait for your new version support MP2 which I hope will load everything automatically same like for MP1

Hello, I want to install MP2 version 2_2.2.3 and I use acamd in plugin. Could you help me with the installation, I have done everything I saw in your comment and I am stuck in the step that there is no audio and video, just like you. at that time and I see that it resolved. Thank you.
