    Hi,

When I change channels randomly, MP freezes (client & server) after 10 - 15 changes. FTA channels and CI modules channels are working fine without any freeze. MDAPI channels (HD+) do freeze.
If I kill MDAPI processes (from task manager) it is not frozen anymore.

I made fresh logs of MDAPI, MP and DD tuner and stopped logging right after freeze.

    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Klaus F

    Hi Klaus,

I've basically checked your logs. Have seen nothing unusual. Could you please specify exact time when the freeze occured. I'll check the logs around this time.

    Hi,

Thanks for quick response. I can see from the DD tuner log the last entry from tuner 1 (in line 87.586) while tuner 2 continued working.

    09.11.2017 19:08:29 DDTuner Device 200:30000: Tune success DVB-S Tuner 1

The logs are made with two (of four) tuners and random tuning time (5 - 10 secs) which might make fault finding difficult. Tonight I will make new logs by assigning a single tuner only and static tuning time. This should make it easier.

    Hi,

Here are three logs from today. I did:

    • Server restart
    • Disable three of four tuners
    • Quit MP service
    • Quit MDAPI service
    • Delete MP and MDAPI log
    • Start MP
    • Set switching frequency to 5 secs and single user
    • Run test until freeze
    • Take logs

Since I can identfy the freeze just by the stop of channel switching use the freeze time in log folders as an indication only. I saved logs asap after freeze so any interesting event should be rather at the end.

A few things which might be interesting:

    • I found "[ERROR] PluginWindowProc exception" at the end of the MDAPI logs.
    • After deleting MDAPI process the freeze of tuner is gone.
    • Every 15 to 20 ECMs I can see "#START#" in the ACAMD monitor so I assume the ACAMD plugin is re-started frequently.

I can do specific tests if required.

    Regards,

    Klaus F

This error is definitely a root of the problem. Could you please post here your MDAPI configuration file - C:\ProgramData\MDAPI_Plus\settings.ini. I think I'll prepare new build of MDAPI with additional logging for you, not sure about tomorrow, may be on Sunday.

    Hi,

The settings is usual, there is nothing to change. Here is attached new build with additional logging, try it out please. It shouldn't fix the problem but should give me additional information in order to fix it.

    Hi,

Thank you for your efforts. Here are two logs. I can make more if requested.

Since ACAMD restarts frequently during the tests I have also logged the re-start times in a separate file if this information is useful.

    Regards,

    Klaus F

    Hi,

Sorry for delay, I was quite busy on work. I've found an error in my code, it's unproper reference counting which caused access to deleted object. I'm going to make appropriate changes and I'll give you new build after some tests. Thank you for your logs.

Please try to use attached build. I hope it will resolve current problem. Unfortunately, I can't completely test it on my configuration.

    Hi,

Thanks for the new build. I'm happy that you take care. Unfortunately it does not solve my issue. I have attached MDAPI logs but can do specific tests if required.

    Regards,

    Hi,

Do these logs help? I can make more or can test specific scenarios if you want me to do. Just let me know.

Edit 02.12.2017: Just as a trial I re-installed Windows 10 Pro and MP 1.18 from scratch as well as Windows Home Server 2011 which I was using prior W10. Both with the same result and same behaviour.

    Regards,

    Klaus F

Bad news today. It seems the latest Windows update 1709 broke again the positive operation of single tuner switching. :-(

    The scenario:

    • Run single tuner test until freeze (typically <40 channel switchings)
    • Take logs (the MDAPI logs stop at the time of freezing)
    • By deleting one of two MDAPI processes manually via taskmanager the tuner test continues as normal !

I have added screen shots of the scenario after freeze showing MP test and task manager.

Is team viewer session an option to help clarifying the situation?

    Regards and Merry X-mas,

    Klaus F
