    Hello, I'm very happy to see dnormmix in the JAGS package, as I think it will
    meet my needs for conditional density estimation. However, I'm puzzled how to
    use it. There don't seem to be any examples of its use, either in the
    documentation or in the examples directories included in the package. Could
    some please post or point me at a quick example? Thank you!

    The lack of documentation and examples is due to a certain lack of confidence
    in this module. The NormMix sampler can use up a lot of computing power
    without delivering the large jumps that tempered transitions are supposed to

    OK. If you're recommending I not use dnormmix for now, can you recommend an
    alternative procedure or software tool for building conditional/hierarchical
    density models?

    Thanks! I'm very glad you and others are working on JAGS. The Windows-centric
    nature of BUGS is pretty frustrating for me...

    Finite mixture modelling isn't really my field. I got into it only because
    such models present difficulties for the deviance information criterion. You
    could try the Cluster view of CRAN for appropriate R packages:
