I'm a beginner using this very good software. I have been looking for application that can assist me with classifying data collected using UAS. The files are created in Photoscan or other software to produce millions of point clouds saved as .LAS. Files are in the order of 5-15Gb. My current file is 8Gb and I wist to clean vegetation/trees from it using filter techniques, but data is unclassified. my attempts to run MMC_Lidar have failed due to an error as as follows;
"Adding MCC-LIDAR folder to PATH environment variable...
C:\Users\Aureus\My Documents>cd C:\lidarTest
C:\lidarTest>mcc-lidar -s 1.5 -t 0.3 Test_Classify.las Test_class.las
Reading 315,578,551 points from '"Test_Classify.las"' ...
Internal program error: vector<T> too long
C:\lidarTest>
"
Your assistance will be highly appreciated.
Regards
Clarence

Yes, I agree with Joe, that's a very big file. You might try the lassplit or lastile utilities from the LASTools suite.

You'll probably need to tile data that big.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have additional questions.
1. What is the maxim tile size mcc can accept?
2. In the command prompt, will I have to run each tile separately or can i simply some how list them to run in batch?
Thanks Clarence
