Well yes, version 2.4.0 missed the corresponding entries in SConscript. I will create a new release (2.4.1) with all this missing stuff in it. You need Open Inventor or Coin for the 3D plugin. Additionally you perhaps need to specify the corresponding directory when configuring mca2: scons configure=yes oiv_dir=your_oi_path Kay =8^) > Hello, > > I have build MCA2.4 on Suse9.2 without lxrt but the 3DRobotViewer-plugin > for mcagui is missing. Hello, I have build MCA2.4 on Suse9.2 without lxrt but the 3DRobotViewer-plugin for mcagui is missing. Perhaps there is a problem with scons. Does anyone know how to amend the SConscript files? Greetings, Ben |

Hello, I'm trying to build mca2 on an actual Ubuntu-system. The configure script is unable to locate 'qt-mt'. The libqt3-mt and libqt3-mt-dev packages are installed, and the libqt-mt.so is in /usr/lib. Has anyone an idea how the script can find it there? regards stef |

Our university recently purchased a CRS Catalyst-5 robot arm and a C500C controller, and we are searching for a Robot application development, if its possible that we can control the CRS robot with MCA2 ? or any one know a free software that can control that kind of robot? Hello, my name is Teoman,I'm a computer engineering student in Galatasaray University. As my thesis project I am planning on building a path finding robot. Using a remote controlled car with a remote camera attached to it. I will write drivers or a program to control the car via the printer port and its remote control. The camera will send images to the computer, the computer will process the images and guide the car. I was wondering if you colud help me, and if I could use and help develop your software. I am at the very beginning of my research and I need some help getting started. Could you help me or direct me to some resources on realtime image processing? Or more precisely how can I use the images from the camera on my C/C++ program? How can i use your software? I`m open to all new ideas and guidance. Thank you in advance for any help you will give me. A. Teoman Naskali teo...@ya... __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Y! Hello MCA2-Users, we released a new version 2.0pre. Its a pre-release as the main new feature Blackboards is still beta. But the new version is also prepared for linux version 2.4.16. We also included the plugin-able version of the MCAGUI. Timing is now scalable (for simulation modes of your applications) Debug-messages are assigned to levels (similar to kernel space). The user can determine a debug-level on start-up and only debug-messages wi= th higher level will be printed. Kay =3D8^) |

Hi, I 'm a new subscriber for this list and I'm very interested by this project. I have downloaded the mca2-1.0final.tgz file from mca2 homepage but I don't find the "libs_tools.dsw" - workspace neither the "visual_c++" directory. Why ? Ludovic. |

Our problem here is, that in some of our industry projects our cusomers want to have a the code to use it for themselfes. So we then sell the not-GPL system together with the solution. Thst why we have this (sometimes b**** annoying) license scheme. blue skies Jan -- -- Jan Christian Albiez -- IDS Interactive Diagnosis- and Servicesystems -- -- FZI -- Haid-und-Neu-Str. 10-14 -- 76131 Karlsruhe -- +49 721 9654 206 -- -- segmentation violation in module reality.o ... ... please shutdown your universe and reboot -- |

As long as you are the only copyright holder it is no problem to give software a dual license and allow people to use it in proprietary products without releasing their source. Troll Tech does that with Qt as well and it is no problem. The only thing you have to ensure it that all code which was given to you by other people under the GPL must always be available in a GPLed version. Personally I prefer not to go this way with my software as it makes things unnecessarily complicated. If people start contributing you have to make a clean cut between what is under the GPL and what is not (which also splits up the community of your users, which in turn is a Bad Thing (TM) for free software in general, IMHO). But this is only my personal way to go (my customers normally want solutions and don't really care if they are open source or not)...
