MAYA STUDIO 13.07 32bit

MAYA STUDIO is an special optimized Linux System with a lot of applications for Audio/Video and Photo-Production based on Ubuntu/Linux Mint.

MAYA STUDIO combines all the awesome Packages of Ubuntu Studio and KXStudio and put it together with a Low-Latency-Kernel into a great long-time supported System based on Linux Mint 13 [Maya] with Mate-Desktop as a modified Version for creative people!

It was tested on many machines and seems to be stable and secure. VST/LV2-Support is included and the ALSA/JACK-Sound-System choosen by default!

It's available as a 32bit Green or Blue Edit! 64bit will follow in future!
Behind us stands no company or else- this is an experimental community release!

INSTALL NOTES:

MAYA STUDIO is to use as a live-dvd/usb-system or to install on harddisk.

It was designed to work on netbooks, older machines and actual hardware with best performance and stability. Recommend is a computer with more than 1,4 Ghz CPU, Minimum of 1GB RAM and 15GB of free harddisk-space!

The UEFI-Option in actual computers has to be disabled in BIOS before install Maya Studio!

Check if your favourite soundinterface is supported:

After installing MAYA STUDIO you have to prepare your system:

—> add user to group “audio”

sudo usermod -a-G audio USERNAME

—> use the ubuntu-studio-control in control-center to apply limits!

—> some LM-updates maybe brings the Pulse-Audio-Server back to line, but Maya Studio prefers ALSA with JACK by default:

just remove pulse-audio or disable it in controlcenter/services

type: sudo apt-get autoremove pulseaudio in terminal!

If you like to use pulse, install the pulse-daemon and pavucontrol.

—> IF YOU HERE NO SOUND IN MAYA STUDIO JUST ACTIVATE “SPEAKER” IN THE ADVANCED MIXER-CONTROL-SETTINGS AT YOUR TASKBAR!

It’s maybe muted with your first boot of Maya Studio!

Also another Mixer-Panel can be activate with the XFCE-Volume-Control-Panel in Startprograms instead of the MATE-Mixer.

—-> Use Cadence for easy and fast JACK-Control

—> Multiboot-Systems: the last Linux Mint-Updates overwrites the Grub-Bootloader and the MAYA STUDIO-“Branding”.

It’s no technical problem- but if you want to see the right “Maya Studio 13.07 32bit” Boot-Option instead of LM-Option- you just have to type

" sudo update-grub " in Terminal after update.

NOTE: There is no technical difference between the B and the G-Version!
