As far as the current ideas go... 1) I have no liking for webmail. A forwarding account=20 @inceptionos.org would be perfect; even if I an @inceptionos.org=20 inbox hosted at inceptionos.org, I'd probably just set it to=20 forward to my in-house IMAP server. I'm sure many others would=20 do so as well. 2) Forums........hmmm. I'd like the idea of forums better, if I=20 didn't keep seeing so many advisories for pre-rolled forum=20 scripts like phpBB. Any John Doe's personal bespoke forum=20 scripts (including what we might come up with) are probably just=20 as buggy and insecure, just not so widely deployed (and thus not=20 so widely exposed). I'd personally prefer newsgroups or mailing=20 lists to forums, especially since we ought to have mailing lists=20 in any case. For now, the Gestation archives will continue to grow. Currently=20 it's getting various bugfixes and updates. --=20 Kelledin "If a server crashes in a server farm and no one pings it, does=20 it still cost four figures to fix?" |
