If Ximian can support an ncurses-style interface along with its=20 X11 interface, and turns out to have easily customizable=20 interfaces, I'd be happy to support it. Up until now, I was considering designing a setup tool=20 remeniscent of scoadmin, the system administration tool from SCO=20 operating systems. In my year or two of working with SCO=20 OpenServer/UnixWare, scoadmin was about the only thing about it=20 I could bring myself to like (there was too much other clunky,=20 backwards, problematic stuff in SCO operating systems). > PLEASE No more package technologies > Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, August 29 2002 @ 02:20 PM > BST Great!! a new linux distro is always a good thing and I > think that every distro should bring it's own unique take on > linux. We've got more than enough=20 packaging technologies available already. --=20 Kelledin "If a server crashes in a server farm and no one pings it, does=20 it still cost four figures to fix?" |
