Hi, > Terry mentioned using GRUB as the default Bootmanager, that is a bad > idea...LILO is easier to use; I myself -- trying to install Caldera > OpenLinux 3.1 -- couldn't figure out how to use GRUB. I suggest giving > the enduser the choice of either using LILO or GRUB upon installation > like Red Hat does, I think other distros do this as well (all except > Caldera). > Grub is MUCH easier then lilo, you dont have to write mbrs, better configuration.. and grub is much much better if you have problems with ooting linux.. lilo is standard sure, but you can also choose between grub and Small Bootmanager.. Also you said something about a redhat like install system.. we can later switch to a GUI System.. yes shity with graphics, and buttons and mouse and all this bullshit. But now we should concentrate on a installationsystem that can be used for development and a distribution that is enabled for a easy installation to work and develop with it.. I perform this step right now.. i think in end of this week i can present you a bootable cd whish can install InceptionOS.. but then this is no great programm we have then a inception-devel distribution. Also i think you as maintainer should build a roadmap or somewhat, we must know what must be done.. Enrico |
