TBH I'm not prepared to give people telnet access, not while there are good,
free win32 SSH clients. When I have to I use putty:

http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html

This also allows for the creation of SSH keys. Could you not consider using
this?

Please let me know if I'm being a bit over the top, but I _really_ object to
the use of plain text passwords... :)
