Well, then, let's just get the channel hosted on Freenode, that would
probably be easier; does anyone know how to get the Freenode people to
create the channel for us and keep it open?

Well, I've got an irc.openprojects.net channel (#InceptionOS)=20
registered.  It should stay around as long as a channel admin=20
(i.e. me) visits it every once in a while.
