Well, the good news: I got Gnome 2 working (mostly). I just need to do some simple,=20 minor tweaks to my own packaging, aside from Gnome 2's innate=20 poop-on-a-stick-ness. Then maybe I'll fire up gdb and clean=20 some of the metaphorical poop off the metaphorical stick. <sarcasm> I'm liking gnome 2, can't you tell? </sarcasm> The bad news: I seem rather powerless to post the good news on inceptionos.org! Do I need more access rights? Am I missing some link that's=20 right in front of me? Terry,
You probably heard about Bonsai, from the Mozilla project; here is the
little blurb on it -- and from what I read we should also use this
application:
BEGIN quote:
Bonsai is tree control.
It is a tool that lets you perform queries on the contents of a CVS
archive; you can: get a list of checkins, see what checkins have been
made by a given person, or on a given CVS branch, or in a particular
time period. It also includes tools for looking at checkin logs (and
comments); doing diffs between various versions of a file; and finding
out which person is responsible for changing a particular line of code
("cvsblame").
END quote;
You can find it at the following URL:

Kelledin, I understand rolling the RPMs is needed, but why don't we get IOS put up on CVS, that way we have a version to lure more Developers/Packages/Etc. to the project, and then when we hav a stable release of 0.1 we create an ISO and put it up on FTP. Terry, Have you installed ViewCVS yet, for those of us who have no idea how to use CVS? Here's an idea! Can we please keep the general public up-to-date by posting news of the progress of IOS on the web site -- and reiterate that we are looking for Developers, etc. -- that way we will be keeping everyone up-to-date as I said before on the progress of the project and when they should expect a release of v0.1 and so on; I am asking all of us to do this as it would be very helpful. First release of initrd-tools is at=20 ftp://skarpsey.dyndns.org/incept/SOURCES/initrd-toos-0.1.tar.gz This includes the source code for a customized binary for the=20 initrd's /sbin/init, plus a bash script that constructs an=20 initrd image from a set of InceptionOS driver packs.
