1. I get a MaxLauncher pop up at every startup of pc, reading: Update check failed.

e) In TroubleShooting there is a Windows Firewall Control option to have No Filtering - 2019-01-06_06-35-11.jpg
I do use and set *Windows Firewall Control to allow update check for MaxLauncher.
* Using *Windows Firewall Control aformentioned link, it does read the following:
* Known Limitations
√ Windows Firewall is incompatible with software proxies, web filtering modules, NDIS drivers and any other security software that may redirect the traffic from Windows Firewall to their own filtering module.
√ Due to multiple system configurations and software installed there may be incompatibility problems. Please report them and help us to improve Windows Firewall Control. Thank you for your support !
In summary:
May I suggest for MaxLauncher, to have under Help, an option to manually Update, to see if and when I/someone disable(s) firewall protection, MaxLauncher Update check might work and or might aid in troubleshooting said problem with MaxLauncher's auto update.
As far as I know, Windows firewall is a bit strange. There's no rule-based priority. It uses the most restrictive.
FYI, MaxLauncher checks a file, http://madproton.users.sourceforge.net/maxlauncher/version/ga_version.txt in version 1.18.0.0. Previous versions had a problem checking a file from an https sourceforge site because it uses TLS 1.2 and .Net 3.5 does not support it. That is why I moved the file to a different site.

Sorry I wasn't specific. I thought you were already using 1.18
0.0. I meant I added it to the next version which would be 1.19.0.0. I'm
still testing it. I will try to upload this weekend.

I don't see it, i.e., manual update option, in version [8-5-2018]
Version 1.18.

Shows Help.
Shows version is Version 1.18.
