    Michael Baas - 2020-06-04

I just found a button on the wrong tab. So I right-clicked it, did "Cut" - went to a "better" tab and right-clicked...just to find that "Paste" was disabled.

Aaaaah - ok, so the explanation is that D&D-Mode was disabled. Since the specific key wasn't used on the "target-tab", I had optimistically assumed I could paste on the background (since "key" was part of the cut info). Enabling D&D then enabled "Paste" - but wouldn't it be nice if we could also paste as I initially tried? ;)

Can you explain that in steps? Sorry, I'm a bit confused as to what is going on.

      Thanks.

Sorry, I think a video will say more than 1k words ;)
So pls. have a look at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UJMy5X4gU6rUkdskazqikHyQ1HswLqbs/view?usp=drivesdk

In the first 16secs I show how I'm trying to copy a button into an empty tab. (It works fine in D&D-Mode, but my point is that "I am assigned to W" could also be part of the copied information, therefore pasting should be doable w/o picking a specific key)

After 16secs I am demoing a change in behaviour that was introduced with .05 or .06, I think: single-clicking items no longer launches then, a 2nd click is needed to "confirm" that. "Double click mouse to launch" as well as "press key twice to launch" are unset - so I think there's no reason to delay launching...;)

      No problem. Video is better.

This is the way it is suppose to work. I did notice an issue. The context menu that you see when you try to paste is the context menu of Tabs. I modified it so that it only shows up when the mouse is over the Tab. https://sourceforge.net/p/maxlauncher/feature-requests/103/. The button context menu should only show up when the mouse pointer is over a button. I this case, you cannot paste into something that is invisible. I understand that the item to be pasted has the "Key" but I think it is better for users to know exactly what to expect because it can be replacing another configured button even if the user will be prompted.

The one I thought I fixed in 1.20.7.0 is somewhat similar. I say somewhat because this recent issue seems to only happen with the Default and Chrome themes which is very strange. Anyway, I tried a different approach; better and simpler. I am testing now.

FYI. I modified the Default and Chrome themes slightly. Now, the icons will resize with the button just like in the Dark and Light themes. https://sourceforge.net/p/maxlauncher/feature-requests/102/

    Thanks - sounds good!
For that paste thing - maybe a configureable setting could allow that? But otoh, don't bloat the config-dialog for such rarely used features ;)
