    Hi,

This happened to someone many years ago. No I dea why it is back.

    A few questions...

    Operating system?
    MaxLauncher installation type (Standard/Portable)?
    CPU?
    Hard drive or SSD?

When the file got corrupted, do you remember what you did before? Shutdown, Restart, Log off or File->Exit from MaxLauncher?

    Thanks.

    Roberto

I changed the way it is closing and saving configuration files. The new build is below if you want to try it and help me test it. :-)

PLEASE BACKUP your app.cfg, favorites.cfg, and .mld files just in case.

      Thanks.

    Hallo,

i will help you as good as i can.

There was a error in my description. I used since the begin the setup version, but the .mld file that pc and laptop are using is at the dropbox.

I have now installed on both the newest setup version.

    Other things:

    1. It would be great to open max launcher with double middle (scroll) click like WinLaunch. For me i have added this function with autohotkey.

    2. I use at my explorer QTTabBar. I attached a video to show my problem.

      Hi,

      1. I use at my explorer QTTabBar. I attached a video to show my problem.

In the attached video, the slow folder if from a network drive and the fast folder looks like it is from a local drive.

Can you please try your test again using two folders from the same drive?

      Thanks.

I have tested it. It doesn't matter where the folder shortcut pointing to (internal drive, external drive, network drive).

    Always the "Target" is "%windir%\explorer.exe"
And in "Arguments" is always the path from the shortcut

In the video i removed "%windir%\explorer.exe" in "Target" and moved the path from "Arguments" there.
After this change it works fast.

Word and Excel shortcut files are have the path in "Target" and they works fast without any change.

Can you try replacing Target: %windir%\explorer.exe with c:\windows\explorer.exe ?

Check if there is still a delay.

The delay also still with "c:\windows\explorer.exe" in the Target.

Only if i put the path to Target the delay disappear.

Can you try Start - > Run, and type "%windir%\explorer.exe C:\ " pls.

      Thanks.

    I have tested it:

MaxLauncher Path in "Target" = 1 second
    Run, and %windir%\explorer.exe C:\ = 2-2,5 seconds
    MaxLauncher %windir%\explorer.exe in "Target" = 3-4 seconds

You can download QTTabBar here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/qttabbar/

Today i also had a new error, when i started my notebook, but seems it has no negative effect (MaxLauncher is correctly working).

    I have some updates:

The initial bug with the app.cfg is not appeared again since i use version .33028

The Bug from my last post only appeared that one time (and seems had no negative effect).

Only open is the delay issue (copy path from "Arguments" to "Target" manually to fix the delay) .

I tried the QTTabBar from sourceforge, it is Beta and I get the same. I tried the one by Quizo (http://qttabbar.wikidot.com/) which seems much better. I also uploaded another beta version (https://sourceforge.net/projects/maxlauncher/files/MaxLauncher/Beta/1.19.7258.25577/) which fixes a relative path problem when using portable version.

I cannot change the target to just the folder path because the target can be anything. It doesn't have to be an executable file or a folder. It can also be an internal command.

If you are willing, I suggest trying the new version of QTTabBar.

      Thanks.

    Hallo,

i know the other version, but it does not good working on catching opening new folders to a new tab (like win+e or from my backup program FreeFileSync). At the moment the other version is no alternative to the other old beta version.

I use the setup version of maxlauncher, but i have the .mld file on dropbox and use the same file at my pc and laptop. It works fine since the version .33028

About the path changing, you mean a .lnk file could also have an internal command?

    How the internal command starts?

A folder always starts with "C:\" (letter, colon, backslash). Can you check the first three and if it matches, then put the argument to target automatically (only a idea)?

    I use C:... and R:... in 99% of cases.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

thank you so much for this option.

It now works super fast without deleting the argument and put it into the target.

I will send a donation as my thank.

After the update, the old shortcuts are stopped to work. If i click on one, it tolds: can't start because there is no file name.

    Detail:
    Error opening
System.InvalidOperationException: Der Prozess kann nicht gestartet werden, da ein Dateiname nicht angegeben wurde.
    bei System.Diagnostics.Process.Start()
    bei MaxLauncher.MButton.LaunchFile(Boolean GroupLaunch)

Then i deleted all my old shortcuts and drag and dropped them into maxlauncher (then autmatically %windir%\explorer.exe is in target). After that they all work.

Maybe it is a good idea to add to the new option, if there is no argument, then it should use the target.
If i put a new shortcut of a folder from a drive that is not connected to the computer, then there is no argument and the path is in target (like how i changed my paths before this update).

    Hey,

now it also working fine when only a target is there.

Maybe you describe at the documentation when to use the option (to increase opening speed of opening folders).

I think now you can close this ticket.

    Thanks.
