Hide Button Text setting not honored
A simple tabbed application launcher.

After upgrading from 1.27.0.0 to 1.28.0.0 this morning, all of my (non-function key) buttons are showing the icon text, despite the 'Hide Button Text' option being checked, as shown in the attached image.
I can work around this by shrinking the MaxLauncher window such that the text doesn't show, but a non-function option is confusing.
Hi Steve,
That is a Theme issue, old Themes(Metal Themes) may lose some functionality from 1.27.0.0 and future versions. Try using one of the new Basic/Detailed Themes.
The reason behind the change is that the "old themes" (=> 1.26.0.0) is that is it very had to maintain and support. You can look at the structure and you will notice that the difference is significant. While the old themes may lose functionality with versions 1.27.0.0 and above, they will still work but will need modification. This is what I am trying to avoid in future versions.
Changes are listed in https://maxlauncher.sourceforge.io/downloads.html For this particular issue, it started with 1.26.1.0
Thanks, the new dark theme is OK, though (personally) I would make the tab background gray a bit darker. (smile) I've accepted each update as I was notified and I had seen the fix listed for Hide Icon Text, but I failed to "Read More" not realizing that 'fixed' in this case was not quite what I expected. That said, the issue has not been visible until 1.28.0.0 -- perhaps because it didn't start by using the old size/position settings.
Regardless, I understand that this isn't really a bug and has already been dealt with. Sorry for wasting your time. Please forgive me. And thanks for this great utility!
No worries.
Unfortunately, I purchase a cheap laptop a long time ago. The color reproduction is bad. :-( I can only calibrate it up to a certain point. Fortunately, the themes are customizable.
Cheers!
