Hello, Yes, I am aware of this work, and watched his talk on it (was it really 2020?). From memory: the modifications rely on several packages (not just those mentioned in this thread), which I do not use and which I would not want to force others to install just to use (e)maxima.el. The package also re-wrote the way symbols are collected: instead of putting them in the elisp code, as is done now, the lists are moved to plain text files). I thought this was a step backward: in my opinion, we should be collecting the symbols from the documentation and/or source code. One big improvement, that I/we should merge, is the re-organized documentation. I have a partially completed edit of this, which has languished on my hard-drive, but I should merge that. I am open to others' points of view on the merits of merging in other parts of that work.
