One thing that I see now that didn't get implemented is a way to unbox
a superquoted expression so that it just becomes ordinary again. If
you're interested, I can try to figure it out.


Could this be as simple as:

(defmvar $respect_quote t)

(defmspec $superq (e) e)

(defun simp-$superq (x y z)
   (declare (ignore y z))
   (if $respect_quote
      x
    (resimplify (cadr x))))
