Let me guess. A non-standard (not "C:\maxima-version") install path? 
Maybe with spaces? Or other special chars, unicode characters or 
something else?

Hey Microsoft, a really *great* idea, to create a *standard* path for 
programs which contains spaces. ("C:\program files"). Great!
